Schedule
EAA Chapter 297 and Air Wilmington will host a fly-in at the Wilmington International Airport on Saturday June 12 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Air Wilmington will offer free "Goodie Bags" on a first come basis and has arranged for free lunch for the first 250 attendees.
Following lunch Mike Matten of Eastern Aviation Fuels will present a seminar entitled "The Outlook for a 100LL Replacement". If you have an airplane that uses 100LL gasoline you will want to hear what Mike has to say!
The manager of the local air traffic control tower, John Sideris, will have controllers on hand to answer your questions about ATC, and even though there is increased security at all FAA Air Traffic Facilities, John has agreed to offer tours of approach control and the tower cab to airmen and women having a photo ID and their airman's certificate.
To tour the tower either fax a copy of your airman certificate, or EAA membership Card and a copy of your drivers license to the local FAA at 910.815.4515 or scan the documents and email them to john.sideris@faa.gov. This must be done at least one week prior to the tour. In lieu of the airman certificate or EAA membership card, a military ID, or an official airport ID will work. If someone has further questions, they can call John D. Sideris at 910.815.4642 (office), or 910.352.1523 (cell). This gives time to run the information through security.
